6:30 Tonight - 1st brown bear (grizzly) staring at Bob from across the river - and him with no camera!! I sent him back to camp for a camera!

This blog will follow Bob’s adventures as he takes on a new job as Camp Host at Chilkoot State Park in Haines, Alaska. He lived here for 9 years in the 70’s so he is familiar with the area, the weather, and the bears. It should be quite an adventure.

Bob is all settled in and ready to go to work. He can get the internet when he goes to the library and would enjoy hearing from friends and family. Please do not send forwards!! It is like having dial-up service. Also it may be 3-4 days before he responds to you. For anyone wanting to travel to Alaska the MILEPOST Alaska Travel Planner is a must. It is updated every year. The cost is about $30.00. It lists mile by mile what to expect on highways in Alaska, Yukon Territory, and British Columbia.
